Dr. Bernice Asamoah, Divisional Head III (Marketing) at OmniBSIC Bank and a KNUST alumna, has donated ten brand-new laptops towards the Vice-Chancellor’s Support One Needy Student with One Laptop (SONSOL) Project.

The SONSOL Project, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson provides laptops to brilliant but financially challenged students to enhance their academic work.
During the presentation, Dr. Asamoah said supporting needy students was a cause close to her heart because she once faced similar challenges.
“I feel privileged to always find myself donating to needy students because I once found myself in their shoes,” she said. “By God's grace and by the help of others, this is the height I have attained now.”
She described the donation as her way of giving back to the institution that helped shape her future.
“To give back to the institution that has moulded me, nurtured me and directed me into my being today, I am grateful, and I remain grateful to the University,” she added.
Receiving the donation, the Vice-Chancellor lauded Dr. Asamoah for her unwavering support and invaluable contributions to the project from its inception. She praised her enduring commitment to promoting digital inclusion and empowering students through initiatives that bridge the digital divide and advance access to quality education.
‘‘The heartbeat of ensuring that nobody is left behind, Dr Bernice Asamoah understands it, and we commend her,’’ Professor Dickson said.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged other corporate institutions and individuals to contribute towards this noble cause.
